陸軍官校入伍訓練下周展開，不過280名新生中，有25人害怕入伍訓練，反悔念軍校而申請退學。國防部指出，102學年度軍校正期班錄取新生於6月24日報到入校，並實施一週預備教育，預備教育期間不適應而離校者，其缺額由備取生遞補，學生素質不受影響。

國防部另指出，基於國家教育資源共享理念，自民國98年起全面開放招收自費生；惟因應100年時，立法院、監察院關切三軍官校自費生畢業後之發展，故101年起暫緩招收三軍官校自費生，待觀察畢業後就業表現，再檢討招收事宜。

由於今（2013）年三軍官校畢業自費生素質優異，且畢業後100%轉服志願軍官，培育成效良好，故將自103學年度擴大復招三軍官校自費生，為國軍及社會培育更多人才，以符合社會期待。

國防部強調，依據軍事教育條例及相關教育法律之規範，三軍官校均設有專業系所，自費生在校期間皆能學有專長，並不影響畢業後之就業。
