（法新社雪梨1日電）號稱「全球最聰明」的水族館今天於澳洲開幕，這個研究型水族館不但能模擬海洋暖化，也能執行重大研究，避免珊瑚礁剋星「棘冠海星」（crown-of-thorns starfish）破壞大堡礁。

澳洲創新、工業、科學與研究部長卡爾（Kim Carr），為這個位於敦士市（Townsville）、耗資3500萬澳元（3140萬美元）打造的澳洲國家海洋模擬水族館（National Sea Simulator, SeaSim）揭幕，他說，這是捍衛大堡礁和澳洲廣大領海的利器。

澳洲海洋科學院（AIMS）稱國家海洋模擬水族館為「全球最聰明水族館」。AIMS科學家霍爾（Mike Hall）說，水族館提供「超棒」的技術。

霍爾說：「我們計劃海洋模擬水族館前，參觀全球40多個海生館，找出完美研究水族館的關鍵要素。」

霍爾說，研究人員可在水族館缸內操作一系列參數，包含水溫、酸度、鹽度、照明、養分含量和水質，驗證諸多實驗假設。

他說：「海洋模擬水族館還是有牆，與開放海洋不同。但它將讓我們快速獲得海洋實驗成果。」（譯者：中央社張詠晴）
