Google未事先通知就關閉SMS search服務 忠誠使用者不滿

Google ( (US-GOOG) ) 的產品大掃除持續進行中，上周關閉了 SMS search 服務，但由於先前未廣為通知，突然決定關閉，讓許多使用者非常不滿，紛紛在 Google 產品論壇上發言抱怨。

SMS search 是 Google 自 2004 年開始啟用的服務，讓非智慧型手機的使用者，透過簡訊方式向 Google 的號碼 (466453) 發送短訊，透過 Google 的回覆，得到關於方向、天氣、體育賽事結果及電影時間等資訊。《TechCrunch》指出，這項服務的最主要目的，是讓沒有連網功能的手機也能搜尋資料，當然，智慧手機也可以使用。

據《PC Magazine》報導，自 9 日起，許多用戶使用 SMS search 時，都只得到下列訊息：「SMS search 已經關閉。你可以利用任何裝置，到網站 google.com 繼續搜尋。」

Google 其他提供的 SMS 服務，包括日曆、部落格、Gmail 及 Google Voice 的 SMS 訊息，則仍照常運作。

Google 第一時間未對外說明，直到周五才透過論壇，由 Jessica S 回應表示，關閉服務是項艱難的決定，但他們會審慎考量每個決定對使用者的影響，這麼做會有助 Google 專注在其他能夠提升人們生活的美好科技。

但這種回覆，對忠誠的使用者來說顯然不夠。論壇上有人要求 Google 重啟這項服務，也有人表示，他原本認為 Google 具有良好的企業倫理，但不說一聲就關閉服務的行為，讓他改變對 Google 這家企業的看法。
