俄羅斯遠東鄂霍次克海，發生芮氏地震儀規模八點二強烈地震，遠至七千公里外的首都莫斯科，以及部份歐洲國家，包括八千多公里外的羅馬尼亞都感受到震動。

地震震央位在堪察加半島以西，震源深度約600公里，當局一度發出海嘯警告，隨後解除，至今無傷亡或損毀報告。

有堪察加半島居民表示，震動長達五分鐘，在莫斯科的居民亦走到街上暫避。

專家表示，由於這次震源非常深，因此震動可傳至非常遠的地方。
