籃下三秒這項規則其實主要還是要看裁判的主觀意念
不過以下的狀況可以不在三秒的吹判內:
1.進攻球員企圖準備離開限制區域時.例如:一名進攻球員遊走待在限制區
超過三秒鐘,都未接獲傳球而試圖離開限制區,即使該進攻球員離開禁區
時超過三秒鐘, 未獲得任何利益(俗稱:未得利),故可以忽略此違例宣判.

2.進攻球員在限制區域內,他或他的隊友正在投籃動作中,且球剛好離手.

3.在禁區停留未超過三秒鐘,即開始運球投籃
除以上狀況外，雙腳於限制區內3秒未移動，即可吹判.
